About Guinea
Guinea is a crescent shaped country on the western seaboard of Africa roughly the size of the United Kingdom with 300km of coastline and 245,800sqkm of land mass. It borders the countries of Guinea Bissau, Senegal and Mali to its north, Ivory Coast and Liberia to the west, Sierra Leone to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Areas: Based on successful preparation and high quality performance, we have a trial area which is 5,311ha (13,123 acres). This area will be successfully increased through our agreement which covers 100 000ha in total.
Outgrower schemes provide firms with the opportunity to control supply while helping farmers improve production standards. Both sides stand to gain and under the current smallholder production system, contract farming appears to be the main road towards making African agriculture more market-oriented.
In addition to Peak Palm Oil PLC's own plantations, palm oil processing mill and production; an integral part of Peak Palm Oils local community based endeavor is to encourage and assist the profitability of local small holders in the area.
